History
Matthew J Santamauro has been practicing law since 1995. Beginning as an Assistant District Attorney in the Richmond County District Attorney’s Office, Matthew prosecuted criminal cases, both Misdemeanors and Felonies, from inception to trial. Since leaving the District Attorney’s office in 1998, and after a brief stint working at the civil defense firm of Cohen and Goldstick, Matthew has been in private practice since 2000. Admitted to practice in the State of New York, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, his practice consists of representing clients in all criminal matters, as well as plaintiffs in personal injury actions.
Additionally, he serves as trial counsel to many firms in the personal injury area of practice. Matthew has been a Director of the Richmond County Bar Association and a member of the Richmond County Bar Association’s Judiciary Committee. He has served as a lecturer for the Bar Association’s Continuing Legal Education department in the areas of Criminal Defense ad Trial Advocacy.
